Military Families United supports Veterans Treatment Courts and Justice for Vets
Washington, DC – Robert Jackson, Naval Veteran and Executive Director of Military Families United announces support for Justice for Vets. A professional service branch of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP), Justice for Vets is the National Clearinghouse for Veterans Treatment Courts and is the lead organization in training, supporting, and implementing Veterans Treatment Courts across the nation. Veterans Treatment Courts are judicially supervised court dockets that serve veterans struggling with addiction, serious mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
“Brave men and women who wear our nation’s uniform often return home with injuries that we cannot see from the outside. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Temporary Brain Injury can lead to substance abuse, mental illness and suicide among the veteran community,” said Jackson. “Military Families United endorses Justice for Vets as they provide much needed assistance and support to veterans who are faced with the often grueling and frustrating court system. Their website, JusticeForVets.org is the only site for Veterans Treatment Court news and resources. We salute their dedication to veterans, and commend the NADCP for remaining on the forefront of the Veteran Treatment Court movement.”
“We are proud Military Families United has endorsed Justice For Vets. Military Families United has a historic reputation for serving veterans and their families and Veterans Treatment Courts will be strengthened by their support,” said Matt Stiner the Director of Development and Outreach and a former Marine and Iraq War Veteran.
